Opinion
I have a lot of opinions and commentary.
Reasonably well informed, shamelessly liberal, and frequently outspoken opinions.
I read. A LOT. I think. A LOT. I try to turn my back on the mirror and live in the world. A LOT. As a direct result of these foolhardy activities, I've come to the realization that our American society SUCKS. It doesn't fucking matter how well-intentioned any number of individuals are; as a collective whole, we SUCK.
As a general rule, we individuals have no interest in bringing those well-meant intentions to the large, diverse, largely anonymous crowd in which we move. We tend to apply our better natures only to those individuals we know personally, and in some cases to people whom we don't know personally, but whom we admire (usually for shockingly shallow reasons). The REST of the people in our society, those strangers, those Others? We don't value them. They are irrelevant. They are beneath Us.
We have reached a point in our society where the average member of our population is a selfish, self-absorbed shit -- because of privilege, complacency, and/or out of self-defense... and that is not a good thing in any community of people who are ultimately, whether they like it or not, going to be dependent upon each other in times of crisis.
Hence, these ramblings and reflections on matters political, religous, and social.
Buckle in. I'm not going to be gentle.
Your morality is **your** business... not anyone else's.
God works through people, people.
Why not?
People stayed home.
Hell. Handbasket. Terminal Velocity.
The First Amendment does not protect your right to be a jackass on Facebook or any other social media site.
It's not, really.
